The best food I've eaten in Kyoto. Their specialty burger lives up to its reputation. Everything is home-made, including the burger bun, patty, the ginger ale etc. This is the kind of small, local restaurant that you want to support. A big shoutout to server Jeremy and the owner, who are both tremendously friendly. If you're in Kyoto, no matter where you are staying, you must eat here at least once.

Beautiful place to try healthy food ( whether u are vegetarian or not). The pumpkin soup is cooked to perfection although I would like aaa bigger bowl . Love the Thai curry . But it is a bit difficult to find . It is basement level and the entrance through a narrow alley . Also one observation: not many local there and hope more Japanese will frequent this place

Finally got a chance to check out Vegginy and it was well worth the visit! As the menu is short and all vegan, we decided to try just about everything(!), ordering the taco chili sandwich, the burger, rosemary potatoes, and the bibimbap - the latter two were standout dishes! The homemade ginger ale was also delicious! Everyone was really friendly and welcoming and the space was intimate and interesting. Would highly recommend, especially as the menu changes weekly!

A cozy little vegan/vegetarian friendly restaurant, with a warm and intimate atmosphere. The staff is incredibly kind, and the food is simply delicious. A great spot to enjoy a creative plant-based menu as an alternative to traditional Japanese cuisine.

The most delicious and healthy food I’ve had in all of Japan, maybe even the world.. but I’ll settle for saying they served easily the best veggie burger and tofu I’ve ever tried … The food was SO fresh and flavorful, with good portions! I loved how saucy the burger was, and it had a nice thick slice of caramelized onion in the middle (the tomato was removed in the photo). The tofu was my favorite part of the Buddha bowl, it was soft-firm inside with a crispy exterior and sautéed in peanut sauce ! The muffin had earl gray tea flavor with apple pieces. Everything was made so wonderfully! They crafted and (to-go) packaged everything with such great care, but it took about an hour both visits. I got the food to-go because it usually took about the same wait time to be seated and my hotel was close. The staff were sooo incredibly kind and friendly! Honestly though, this place was small and understaffed (they’re hiring!) so they had some difficulty managing the high customer demand, and their open hours are quite limited… so definitely try to make this place a priority!! They deserve the support and you’ll have a tasty reward. I want people to know how great this place is so when I return to Kyoto some day, they will still be around! I know I’ll be dreaming about it until then… I wish they had a recipe book or a branch in New York City! I would love to eat their food all the time Also! The restaurant is located down the stairs located on the far left (of a hotel building iirc?), it can be hard to see the opening. GPS was turning me toward the wrong side, so it was a little confusing
